Javelin Group was engaged by senior management at Unilabs to provide a scientific’ and customer-focussed approach to location analysis to support French site planning.

Project

Deep analytics were deployed to construct a model of geographic demand across France (based on the business’s customer profile) and identify opportunity ‘hot-spots’.

Outputs

Insight was provided on the combination of factors (catchment, siting etc.) driving performance across the estate. This formed the basis for building a predictive performance forecasting model that could be used to assess the trading potential of any proposed site.

Benefits

This model was applied to firstly establish investment priorities in existing locations (identifying potential targets for investment, relocations etc.) and then to prioritise a ‘short-list’ of roll-out opportunities (including any target competitor sites) for Unilabs.

We were delighted to work with Javelin Group to bring some retail-led perspectives into our growing business. The team articulated detailed approaches to location planning and delivered a clear set of recommendations to the French management team that we are now acting on.
