Having entered into a Company Voluntary Agreement (“CVA”), Carpetright engaged Javelin Group to deliver a high-level store location review identify opportunities to re-shape the store estate.

Project

Strategic evaluation of current and optimal store network footprint.
Assessment of geographic spend universe (current and target) informed customer analytics to quantify high and low spending consumer groups for Carpetright.
Practical store-by-store recommendations (e.g. retentions, consolidations, relocations, areas of considerable uplift potential…) aligned to CVA flexibility to best leverage current rental agreements.

Outputs

Clear, implementable recommendations set out the optimised current and ‘white gap’ location network by format required to meet strategic future business targets.

Benefits

This insight has been used to inform Carpetright’s strategy and enable the store estate to be ‘fit for the future’ by the end of the 3-year CVA period.
