With an ambitious store growth plan intersecting with the development of new format propositions and operating models, Metro Bank approached Javelin Group to build a fast-paced data-driven plan for future store estate optimisation.

Project

The evaluation incorporated a plan for existing store venues together with the prioritisation of new opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of Metro Bank’s customers (involving segmentation of the personal and business customer universe) and the full range of factors driving performance across the estate (catchment, venue, site, store…).

Outputs

A suite of BI software tools (Tableau, Alteryx and DataRobot) were deployed to build and articulate 11 predictive models across personal/business customers and product types covering key volume and value metrics.

Benefits

Resulting recommendations and insights fed directly into two other strategic workstreams – new format development and new operating model (also delivered by Accenture).
