Technology Strategy

IT Operating Model Strategy

Javelin Group helps retailers develop an IT operating model strategy – ensuring they are setup to deliver the modern capabilities and skills required to be a successful retailer today.

Delivering a new IT organisation

  • Modern retail capabilities are delivered by new IT skills and retailers are deciding how to organise for success. Javelin Group has experience in helping retailers define how best to organise their technology team(s).
  • We build an understanding of the technology the IT team is supporting, its strengths and weaknesses and the enhancements in progress or planned.
  • We examine the business initiatives and market context that are driving your team and listen to business stakeholders and their strategic aims. Taking this, we develop the catalogue of capabilities that are required to be successful, and map these into technical and soft skills and the processes and governance required to use them effectively.
  • Our structured approach to developing an IT operating model strategy provides you with the insight into your existing situation, the opportunities that will come from making changes and the confidence to act decisively to implement them.
  • Our work covers central vs departmental vs regional organisation, identification of key capabilities and skills, sizing of teams, key management processes, role & responsibilities.
