Product Information Management (PIM)

Drawing on extensive knowledge of omni-channel retail, Javelin Group implements Product Information Management solutions to successfully streamline and support the day-to-day running of retail businesses.

Quality and availability of product data across sales channels is a challenge for many retail businesses. Product Information Management (PIM) is a specialised area of Master Data Management (MDM) which seeks to provide a ‘single truth’ of product data, addressing the unique requirements of ecommerce and retail businesses such as publication, internationalisation, workflow, imagery management and content enrichment.

We implement PIM solutions as stand alone projects or as part of a wider ecommerce development programme.

A Javelin Group partner in this area is Informatica Software, a leading provider of enterprise PIM and MDM solutions. Along with Informatica Software, we implement solutions which can provide either a single view of the product catalogue across all channels, or can be tailored to manage data for an individual channel, such as a website storefront. We have recently completed Informatica PIM implementation projects for Halfords (read case study) and Jumbo Supermarkten (read case study) and currently have other PIM projects in development.
