Town centre research for Quidnet Capital.

Quidnet Capital, owners of the Treaty Centre in Hounslow, engaged Javelin Group to provide research support as they contested plans for additional town centre retail that would adversely impact the Treaty Centre.

Javelin Group’s work involved the following:

  • Reviewing the planning application process for the additional retail space and demonstrating how the approach ought to better take into account changing consumer spending behaviour that would make the addition of the proposed quantum of retail floorspace unsustainable
  • Supporting the Quidnet team at council meetings and presenting the case for protecting the town’s main existing retail asset

As a result of this work, Javelin Group was able to assist Quidnet Capital and its leasing agents in helping to secure important new tenants to strengthen Treaty Centre and Hounslow town centre.

The team at Javelin Group knows everything about retail! Their understanding of how consumer spending behavior is evolving and how this affects the viability of retail property was a crucial part of our story in convincing the local authority to reconsider its recommendations. Javelin Group’s support has played an important role in securing the long-term future of the Treaty Centre and, furthermore, has helped us add value to the asset.
