Javelin Group and Accenture
Javelin Group was founded in 1997 by Tony Stockil, CEO, and Richard Wolff, COO, at the start of the ecommerce revolution, to help major retailers embrace multi-channel retail. Since then, we have continued to work at the heart of the retail digital revolution, growing the team to 230+ consultants, with offices in London and Paris, and two development centres in Bulgaria.
In June 2015, Javelin Group was acquired by Accenture – a leading global professional services company with more than 375,000 employees serving clients in more than 120 countries – to lead its capabilities in digital retail transformation within Accenture Strategy, and we remain a separate, specialist and distinct business unit within the firm.
Javelin Group in Bulgaria
Javelin Group established its first office in Sofia in 2008, and due to sustained and successful growth we opened our second office in Plovdiv in 2013. In 2015, we started our graduate programme and we now have a team of more than 80 specialists across the two offices.
The Bulgarian team is part of our Systems Integration practice, and is primarily a development centre housing complementary roles to our London head office and taking the lead on many of our retail and ecommerce development projects. The team is made up of managers, developers, technical support analysts, QAs, project managers, technical architects, BAs, release engineers, infrastructure analysts and an operational support team.
Our focus is on the design, development, implementation and support of ecommerce systems for our clients, who are leading global retailers and consumer brands. These systems include transactional websites, order management systems (OMS), product management systems (PIM) and content management systems (CMS). These are predominantly based on Java and include hybris, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly known as Demandware) and Intershop ecommerce platforms.
